Children’s Choir of Michiana (established in 2004) espouses a fundamental belief that all children can learn to sing. Following its charge to provide an educationally based vocal program, this choir of select fourth through twelfth graders learns head-voice vocal technique, sight singing and rhythm.

The choir holds workshops & concerts throughout north central Indiana and southern Michigan. In April of 2006, the choir sang with the Goshen Community Chorus in Sauder Concert Hall at Goshen College. November of 2006 saw the choir invited to the Dowagiac Choral Festival. In commemoration of its fifth anniversary, the choir performed John Rutter's Mass of the Children with Vesper Chorale and Orchestra. They returned to Goshen College in March of 2011 for the Indiana/Michigan Youth Choir Festival. The choir travelled to Washington D.C. in June of 2012 for its first concert tour and hosts an annual Invitational Choir Festival to which it invites singers from schools and churches throughout the region. Children’s Choir of Michiana celebrated its 10th Season with a trip to New York where they performed with choirs from around the world at Carnegie Hall. Their first “overseas” trip took them to Costa Rica in June of 2016.

Children’s Choir of Michiana rehearses on the campus of IUSB: Indiana University South Bend on Tuesday evenings. Auditions are held in early spring and late summer each year.
