The Hebrew Scriptures form a rich tapestry of stories, history, prophecies, poetry, songs of praise, and exclamations of lament. These various books were written thousands of years ago, yet they continue to serve as a scriptural foundation for the three Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. This concert explores various text settings from the Hebrew Scriptures while also interpolating contemporary sacred poetry from a variety of authors. Even as the music honors different religious traditions, it also highlights the stories, values, and themes common across religious boundaries. Through music and words, the concert forms a rich tapestry illustrating what we hold in common, rather than what divides us.
